Open Gardens 2023 & 2027

We held our first ever Upper Saxondale Open Gardens on Sunday 4th June 2023 in aid of Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust. Twelve village gardens and private paddocks were opened by residents, along with the woodland walks and a grass Maze near the play park. The gardens varied in size and style, from bijou to professionally landscaped. We also had Tom our resident bee-keeper sharing his skills and selling honey; and, there was a demonstration of wood whittling too along with sales of items the whittlers had created. And of course vegetable and flower plants stalls in 2 gardens and afternoon teas and cakes in the village hall.

The next Upper Saxondale Open Open Gardens is planned for Sunday 6th June 2027

Ever since the huge success of our first Open Gardens in 2023 the Team has been asked when will they do it again?

The answer is Sunday 6th June 2027!

So - would you like to join our Open Gardeners and open yours too? We’re not looking for perfection as visitors loved all our different shapes, sizes and challengers too.

And if opening your garden is not for you, but you’d enjoy being part of this very happy day, then we will be welcoming as many volunteers as we possibly can to cover:
