Open Gardens Sunday 4th June 2023
We held our first ever Upper Saxondale Open Gardens on Sunday 4th June in aid of Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust. Twelve village gardens and private paddocks were opened by residents, along with the woodland walks and a grass Maze near the play park. The gardens varied in size and style, from bijou to professionally landscaped. We also had Tom our resident bee-keeper sharing his skills and selling honey; and, there was a demonstration of wood whittling too along with sales of items the whittlers had created. And of course vegetable and flower plants stalls in 2 gardens and afternoon teas and cakes in the village hall.
It’s hoped to hold Open Gardens again in the future. Perhaps you’d like to help organise the event, maybe even open your garden? Let us know at info@uppersaxondale.com
